Moles

Habitats - January

We went out to the forest this week to continue our learning on habitats. Matthew Hawthorne helped us to find lots of different habitats, from tiny insects up to red deer. We explored the woodland and finished with a story by the fire. Back in the classroom, the children showed a really good understanding of the animals that were in the habitats around us.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let Down Your Hair!

January 2019

We have been reading the story Rapunzel this half term and we had a practice at climbing down her long golden hair in Gymnastics. It was really tricky, we had to use lots of muscle power!

Reading for Pleasure

January 2019

In Mole class we love reading! It has been great to see the children independently choosing to read books and share them with each other.

Mystery Reader

January 2019

This week our mystery reader came all the way from Texas to read us a story. Auntie Katie surprised Alice and came to share a story with us!

Medium Term Plan for Spring 1

Busy Busy Afternoons...

December 2018

Traction Man meets TurboDog

October 2018

We are just loving Traction Man at the minute! We have created our own salt dough characters and spent the afternoon decorating them, they look just like Mini Grey's illustrations!

Lost and Found

October 2018

We've been using our detective skills to make observations and predictions on what might happen in the story.

RE - Where do we belong?

September 2018

This term we are looking at Christianity and we have been thinking about all the place or things that we belong to. We built these places out of lego, bricks and even made dens with blankets.

Tomas belongs to breakfast club, Florence belongs to our country and Imogen belongs to her house.

Traction Man Obstacle Courses

We made our very own obstacle courses today and pretended to be Traction Man on an adventure, weaving through the vines in a jungle, climbing up and over mountains, sliding down snowy slopes. Take a look at how daring we were!

Traction Man meets TurboDog!

We love the author Mini Grey in Mole class so our focus book is Traction Man meets TurboDog. We have lots of activities planned around the book and will be planning a story cafe when we finish learning from the book. Keep your eyes peeled for our trac-tastic learning!

Welcome back!

We hope you have all had a wonderful summer holidays! We are super excited to meet our new Moles and welcome back our new Year 2's.

Our first book for learning will be 'Traction Man meets TurboDog' by Mini Grey. Perhaps you can find some other books by Mini Grey at home or at the library?

Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in every Wednesday and all of their uniform is named so that we can make sure everyone goes home with the right things.

We already have lots of exciting things planned for a jam packed year of learning!

Please feel free to come and speak to us at the end of the day if you have any questions or queries, we will always be happy to speak to you. You are always welcome to come into the classroom and see what your children have been doing.
