Learning New Skills
Moles had the opportunity to use hammers in the forest today, we talked about the importance of safety and what skills we were learning. We had to concentrate carefully and use our fine motor skills to make sure that the hammer knocked the nail into the wood. We used lots of strength too!
How to Coppice a Tree
Moles went into the woods to learn about tree coppicing. Jon the Woodman was there with his chainsaw and showed us how they do it, Mr Hawthorne told us why it was so important. We helped to move the felled trees to be used to build fences around the estate. It was hard work!
