At Barnham CEVC Primary School, we believe PE should be fun, active and inspiring for every child. We want all children to enjoy being active, try new sports and develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong love of physical activity. We aim to provide high-quality PE opportunities that allow every child to succeed and feel included.
Children take part in a wide range of sports and physical activities throughout the year as part of our PE curriculum. We regularly invite sports coaches and professionals into school to provide exciting lessons, specialist coaching and extra-curricular clubs. Pupils also have opportunities to represent the school in inter-school competitions and tournaments, helping them to experience teamwork, determination and fair play in a competitive setting. All children participate in our annual Sports Day, celebrating effort, achievement and participation.
Our PE curriculum helps children to become confident, active and enthusiastic learners who enjoy sport and physical activity. Pupils develop important life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, respect and self-belief. Through a variety of sporting experiences and competitions, children build confidence, improve their physical skills and understand the importance of leading healthy, active lifestyle
