Pompeii Diary Entries

Fox Class have been working really hard this week on writing their very own diary entry, with a twist.  The children had to put themselves in the shoes of a citizen of Pompeii in 79AD when Mount Versuvius erupted.  The children showed great empathy for the people of the city and this is reflected in their diary entries.  We are all so proud of their hard work.  Well done, Foxes!

Maths on the Farm

Today we had the chance to put all of our learning into practice.  Our knowledge of measuring, perimeter and area came in handy when we were measuring the shapes in the field which had been cultivated by Euston for us.  We used lots of skills during our work today, including: team work, problem solving, speaking and listening, shape knowledge, drawing skills, measuring skills, perimeter and area knowledge, and much more.  We even remembered what we had learnt during Countryside Week in the summer about radius and diameter!  We can't wait to crunch some numbers in class to round off our learning in Maths smiley

STORY CAFE

Today, we had our first story cafe.  We got a menu to choose what to write about, we had a voucher to spend at the cafe and we even had flowers on our tables.  The relaxing music played in the background while we wrote our stories.

Open the Book

Fox Class were asked to support Open the Book last week...

Saul and his army were chasing David.  Saul fell asleep outside the cave where David was hiding and David spares his life.  Davis respects that God's plan to make him king will happen in God's time.

Woodwork - Week 3

Hot, hot, hot!  We worked on putting together the base frame this week.  The children used a hot glue gun to stick their wood together.  Some of us learnt that careful measuring is crucial in woodwork. frown

Woodwork - Week 2

The children all enjoyed having the chance to saw their dowels.  It was hard work but they were all pleased with their work.

Woodwork - Week 1

The children were all excited about our new project in Design Technology - making a Roman catapult!  Week one of the project included measuring the dowel accurately ready for sawing next week.

Guitars

Fox Class loved their first guitar lesson!  We all learnt what the different parts of the guitar were called, the strings and their letter names and we even got to play our first song.  We can't wait for next week!
