Monday:
Literacy:
(Approx. 30 mins – 12 min teaching video, 20 mins activity)
- Watch Miss Sutton’s video – A present.
Activity:
- At last we’ve caught the gingerbread man! – he said that he wants to give someone from the story a present to say sorry for running away – what should the present be? Who should he give it to?
- Talk with your teddy or someone next to you – who do you think he should give a present to? the cow? the cat? the fox?
- What should the present be?
- Why should he give it to them?
- After chatting about the above questions, draw a picture of the present.
- Then write to explain who it is for and why. First say your sentence, then segment the sounds to record the words.

Maths (Reception):

- Pause video at different points and complete challenges.
Activity:
- Quick! How many dots are there? Hold up the right number of fingers! I wonder if you can make 5 using different fingers e.g. 4 fingers on one hand and 1 finger on the other / 3 fingers on one hand and 2 on the other.
- Answer the questions on the video.
- Count out 5 buttons/lego pieces/pasta pieces and 2 plates – how could you sort the pieces?

Maths (Year one):

- Watch this video: ‘Count forwards and backwards and write numbers to 20’ (10mins)

- Pause video at different points and complete challenges. (20mins)
- Practise counting on from 10 to 20.
- Stick together the 1-20 number track in resources – use it to help you join in with the lesson.
- Pause the video and draw a ‘grumpy teenager next to all of the teen numbers – children are familiar with this concept and often pull a ‘grumpy teenager face’ when counting along the teen numbers: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19
- When we get to 20 we say 20 tea – and pretend to drink a cup of tea.

- Pause it at the relevant points for your child to answer any questions, practise letter formation or to fill in each part of the sheet.
- The sheet is called ‘Phonics: air’.
- If you do not have access to a printer, please don’t worry – children can write it out on a piece of paper, the sheet isn’t necessary but may just be handy as a reference.
