This Week's Timetable

Google Meets

We will be continuing to have our whole class meets to talk you through the work for the day and motivate you for the day ahead! The timetable is as follows:
'Magical Monday' - 9:05am
'Trivia Tuesday' - 9:05am
'Wake up Wednesday' - 9:05am
'Thumbs up Thursday' - 9:05am
Friday Squirrels Sharing Assembly - 9:05am
In these meetings it is so important that you stay muted unless we ask you to speak. We also need you to remember to be sensible like you would be in a normal lesson in school with us. Please only join the meetings at the time we have asked you to. The link will always be posted on Google Classroom just before it starts.

Miss Cross is going to be running some maths extra help groups on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11am. Let us know in our morning meets if you will be wanting to join for some help!
There will also be a reading and spelling intervention group at 9:30am on Tuesdays and Fridays (you will have already been contacted if you are in this group).

Thursday is World Book Day where there will be a live whole school zoom at 10am and a class Google Meet at the end of the day!
 

Make sure you are logging onto Google Classroom every day so you don't miss any updates and can see the links to the Google Meets. They will always be posted a few minutes before the meeting begins. We will be continuing our Google Meet lunch time check-ins Monday-Thursday with the same groups as before at 12:30pm, where we can talk to everyone individually! We look forward to catching up with you this week! 

Uploading Work

It is so important that you keep uploading your work each day so we can give you feedback and understand how we can help you. Every day there is an assignment for Literacy, an assignment for Maths and one detailing the work for the whole day. Please add work to the appropriate lesson assignments where I have put a blank document for you to edit. This document is for you to add photos of you work to, or to type your work onto - choose whichever way is easiest for you. It would be really helpful if you could add work under the correct lessons so I can see who is accessing the work and completing it. Every lesson will be worth 100 points which you will receive when I return your work back to you with my feedback. Make a booklet to help you keep score of how many points you gain this week and the winner will be announced on Friday!

Learning This Week

For Maths this week, some lessons will be of me teaching you and others will be some other videos to help you. We are now moving onto looking at fractions going over some basics that you will have done in Year 4. If you find anything tricky, please don't worry. Come along to the maths support sessions if you are unsure about anything, or please email me.

For Literacy you will be doing some writing to finish our Titanium unit! Can't wait to see what you write!

Please enjoy spending some time reading a book, either to yourself or with someone else. If you would like to borrow some books from school, you can collect them every week day between 9am and 2pm. Please add to our new reading tracker each time you read so we can work as a class to reach our target again! Find the link in the email I sent you last Monday. This is also a great way for us to see what you are reading at home too :) Each day I will continue to be uploading a video of myself reading you our class story, so sit back and watch/listen to that when you can :) Try and catch up if you've missed any of it as I will be reading you the last chapter live on World Book Day!

We are so excited for Feel Good Friday, our wellness day again this Friday! This is a day for you to take time away from your screens and enjoy some exciting activities where you can be creative, active, relaxed, outside or inside! Have fun and celebrate your final day of remote learning :)

The timetable is to help you keep organised, however you do not have to do the tasks in this order! Give what you can a go and please get in touch if you are struggling with anything.

Maths

For today's Maths lesson, we are looking at 'What is a fraction?' to help you recap from Year 4.

Please watch the White Rose video to help you with completing the worksheet today. You can add your answers in on the digital editable worksheet on Google classroom if you wish. To challenge yourself, have a go at the greater depth questions too. Please upload all of your work to Google Classroom so I can see how you get on with our new topic.

Maths

For today's Maths lesson, we are continuing with Fraction and recapping some things from Year 4.

Please do the worksheet Equivalent Fractions 3 VF. Try and do up to question 8b if you can. The greater depth questions are the one after this and all answers are at the bottom so you can mark your work when you have finished.

Go back to yesterday's questions and video if you need help. Please use the fraction wall too!

If you are struggling, please come along to the maths session with Miss Cross at 11am on Friday.

Art

Barnham Masked Reader!

You may have seen the TV show 'The Masked Singer'.. well this is THE MASKED READER! Teachers from Barnham have filmed themselves reading you some stories wearing a mask! Can you guess who is who?!

Google Meets & Zooms

See you all at our whole class morning meet at 9:05am for our Squirrels Sharing Assembly :) If you have something you'd like to share, bring it along! We will also be awarding Citizen of the Week! Also come to the meet knowing how many points you have received this week so we can find out who is the winner later in the day! Looking forward to seeing you! There will be the whole school zoom sharing assembly with Mrs Arnold at 10am! I will post the zoom link on Google Classroom before it begins. If you shared photos of world book day then you will be featured in the assembly!

From 2-3pm we have an online circus workshop!! I will put the link on google classroom - this is so exciting and a great way to end remote learning!!

I have decided not to do a maths group today so that I can take the time to plan any interventions that will be helpful for next week! So if you found any of the fractions work tricky this week, you will be able to do some more on it next week in intervention groups.
