6.30am – 9.30am & 3.00pm – 5.30pm (there could be flexibility of hours depending on circumstances and suitability) 44 weeks per year, with holiday entitlement.

Teaching Assistant / HLTA

 

Teaching Assistant Salary: £18,933 - £19,698 pro rata

HLTA Salary: £21,748 - £23,080 pro rata

 

Part Time

31.25 hours per week, over 5 days

38 weeks per year

Our supportive and friendly school are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced learning support assistant to inspire, cherish and believe in our pupils, parents and staff. There will be opportunities to work as a HLTA for a proportion of the hours and receive an uplift on your salary for those hours.

 

We are looking for someone who:

 

  • has the experience, confidence and skill to provide cover for EYFS and/or Key Stage 1 in the event of short term absence, for example due to sickness or training. You will manage a class of pupils, following a plan prepared by the teacher
  • You will also be a practitioner who has the expertise to be a role model for other TAs and who can induct, encourage, supervise, support, evaluate and further develop the work of our Early Years and Key Stage One teachers.
  • holds HLTA status or has level 5 or equivalent in the field of child development or working with children
  • is punctual, flexible and reliable
  • thrives on seeing children become independent amazing learners
  • is confident and competent to build relationships with pupils, parents and staff
  • has excellent team working and communication skills
  • can work independently and use their own initiative
  • has the interpersonal skills to model and live out our Christian values; showing empathy, respect, trust and courage within our school
  • is focussed on ensuring each child achieves the very best they can.

To support our early years team in maintaining an engaging and child led learning environment and work alongside team members to support children’s development in all areas.

Core responsibilities

 

To work with the early years team to support children’s learning and development in all areas, in both the indoor and outdoor environment.

 

Examples of this include:

  • Setting up resources
  • Playing and working with children
  • Observing children at play
  • Hearing children read
  • Supervising children at lunchtimes and after school club for Post 2
