Sports PE and Sports Premium

PE AND SPORTS PREMIUM

‘Sport Premium’ is a new funding package that has been recently announced by the Government. They are providing schools with additional money over the next two years to support the delivery of PE and sports in schools.

We plan to spend to the funding in the following ways:

  • Membership to the Gipping Valley Schools Sport Partnership
  • Training staff in teaching outstanding and inclusive PE lessons. Training and feedback will be shared with all staff so the benefit is felt throughout the school
  • Updating staff on the new curriculum
  • Buying new PE resources to ensure the pupils have the opportunity to have a go at variety of sports
  • Expenses needed to ensure the pupils can enter local sporting competitions, such as travel costs.

Our pupil perception interviews clearly showed the pupils have a positive attitude towards sport and PE at Barnham Primary. The pupils also stated they have seen a recent improvement in Sport and PE at school, which has consequently enhanced their enjoyment and participation.

The website will be regularly updated with how the funding is being spent and the impact it is having on the children.
