Literacy
(Approx. 30 mins – 13 min teaching video, 20 mins activity)
Activity:
- Join in with the gingerbread man version of the nursery rhyme.
- Use your gingerbread man story map (or the copy of Miss Doherty’s in resources) to change a character in the story.
- You could use post it notes to change the characters – stick the post it note on top of the character you are changing and draw the new character on top.
- If you don’t have post it notes, just cross your character out like Miss Doherty has.
- Retell the story with your changes.
- Keep your new story map safe, you will need it on Thursday!
- Draw your new story map out with the new changes.

- Gingerbread man story map (not necessary but may be handy as a reference)
Maths (Reception):
Maths (approx. 30 mins)
Activity:
- Quick! How many dots are there altogether?
- Which animal has more?
- Play a game with someone at home – both turn over a card/picture card – who has the most objects/greater number.
- If you are using a pack of cards – encourage the children to count the icons to support their number recognition.
- Count to see who has the most cards.

- Or picture number cards (in resources bank – not essential but may help if you don’t have a pack of cards).
Maths (Year one):

- Paper, pencils

- Separate sheet (Yr1 Tuesday Maths warm up + worksheet)
Phonics:
(Approx. 20mins)
- Watch Miss Flower's video: ‘ai’
- Pause it at the relevant points for your child to answer any questions, practise letter formation or to fill in each part of the sheet.
- The sheet is called ‘Phonics: ai’.
- If you do not have access to a printer, please don’t worry – children can write it out on a piece of paper, the sheet isn’t necessary but may just be handy as a reference.
