Literacy
(Approx.30 mins – 9 min teaching video, 20 mins activity)
Activity:
- Draw your own story map for the story of the ‘Dancing Bat’ – don’t worry if it doesn’t look like Mr Gullians. Or if your child changes the story. (10-15mins)
- Look after your story map for other lessons.
- Retell the story to someone in your house, using the story map. (5 mins)
- You could even add some of our storytelling words and pictures to the story map e.g. Once upon a time (we draw an open book), Suddenly (we draw two hands in the air) etc.

Maths (Reception)
(Approx. 30 mins)
- Pause video at different points and complete challenges.
Activity:
- What objects in the video show 5 – discuss. (5 mins)
- Can you collect groups of 5 items from around the house. Put them on a five frame (15mins)
- Talk about what you notice.
- Complete ispy 5 sheet (5mins)

Maths (Year One)

Phonics
(Approx. 20mins)
- Watch Miss Sutton’s video: ‘ee’
- Pause it at the relevant points for your child to answer any questions, practise letter formation or to fill in each part of the sheet.
- The sheet is called ‘Phonics- ee’.
- If you do not have access to a print, please don’t worry – children can write it out on a piece of paper, the sheet isn’t necessary but may just be handy as a reference J
