This Week's Timetable
Google Meets
This week we will be having some more Google Meets!
Same as last week, we will be continuing to have our whole class meets to talk you through the work for the day and motivate you for the day ahead! The timetable is as follows:
'Magical Monday' - 9:05am
'Trivia Tuesday' - 9:05am
'Wake up Wednesday' - 9:05am
'Thumbs up Thursday' - 9:05am
Friday Squirrels Sharing Assembly - 9:05am
In these meetings it is so important that you stay muted unless we ask you to speak. We also need you to remember to be sensible like you would be in a normal lesson in school with us. Please only join the meetings at the time we have asked you to. The link will always be posted on Google Classroom just before it starts.
Miss Cross is going to be running some maths extra help groups on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11am. Let us know in our morning meets if you will be wanting to join for some help!
There will also be a reading group with Miss Cross on Friday at 9:30am. You will be contacted this week if you are involved in this. There will also be a drop in session on Friday at 11:45am for anyone who would like to come and say hi to Miss Cross or their friends for a chat! I know it is a difficult time for all children as they are missing their friends, so come along for a catch up if you would like :)
Make sure you are logging onto Google Classroom every day so you don't miss any updates and can see the links to the Google Meets. They will always be posted a few minutes before the meeting begins. We will be continuing our Google Meet lunch time check-ins Monday-Thursday with the same groups as before at 12:30pm, where we can talk to everyone individually! We look forward to catching up with you this week!
Uploading Work
It is so important that you keep uploading your work each day so we can give you feedback and understand how we can help you. The instructions on how to log into Google Classroom and upload work are below. Every day there is an assignment for Literacy, an assignment for Maths and one detailing the work for the whole day. Please add work to the appropriate lesson assignments where I have put a blank document for you to edit. This document is for you to add photos of you work to, or to type your work onto - choose whichever way is easiest for you. It would be really helpful if you could add work under the correct lessons so I can see who is accessing the work and completing it. Every lesson will be worth 100 points which you will receive when I return your work back to you with my feedback. Make a booklet to help you keep score of how many points you gain this week and the winner will be announced on Friday in our assembly!
Learning This Week
For Maths this week, some lessons will be of me teaching you and others will be the White Rose worksheets and videos. We are continuing with multiplication so to break it down and ensure you are understanding, keep going back to my videos to help you! We are working on 4d x 2d using the long multiplication column method. We will then move on to division on Thursday, 2d divided by 1d. If you find anything tricky, please don't worry. Come along to the maths support sessions if you are unsure about anything, or please email me.
For Literacy you will be doing some SPaG, as well as continuing with our Titanium unit where I will be teaching you on videos I have recorded again.
Try and spend some time reading a book, either to yourself or with someone else. If you would like to borrow some books from school, let us know and we can leave some out for you to collect. Below is a reading log for you to fill in and send to me at the end of each week. It would be great to see you filling this in every time you read! I have also added a book review template for you to fill out when you finish a book! Each day I will continue to be uploading a video of myself reading you our class story as we are so close to finishing it now, so sit back and watch/listen to that when you can :) I hope you're enjoying it!
We are so excited for Fun Day Friday, our new wellness day! This is a day for you to take time away from your screens and enjoy some exciting activities where you can be creative, active, relaxed, outside or inside! There will be lots of options to choose from so look out for this on Friday :)
The timetable is to help you keep organised, however you do not have to do the tasks in this order! Give what you can a go and please get in touch if you are struggling with anything.
I have created a 'virtual classroom' in Google Classroom which has all of the important links that you will frequently use throughout the week. Use this page to help you navigate your learning quickly and with ease. It is at the top of the 'Classwork' tab.

SPaG - Spelling
Click on the link provided below, and this will direct you to today's spelling lesson on our new topic: Suffixes. Please could you complete Lesson Two: To practise and apply knowledge of suffixes -ate, -en, -ify, -ise suffixes, including a test. You will need to watch the video and pause it at specific intervals to complete the activities and test :)
Type your work out on the google doc on the Literacy assignment for Monday on Google Classroom, or upload photos of your written work to the assignment.
Maths
For today's Maths lesson, please watch this video that I have filmed of myself teaching you alongside the maths slides! Make sure you have some paper ready to do Teacher Led and the Paired Work from the slides with me. I have attached the slides below for you to see as well.
We are moving on to do: 4d x 2d Long Multiplication. If you are finding this tricky, please have a go at doing 2d x 2d or 3d x 2d. Come and see me at the maths help group tomorrow at 1pm if you need some extra support.

Story with Miss Cross
Today's video is of me reading you Chapter 22 - the final chapter! Comment on the video to let me know if you've made it to the end with me and tell me what you thought of the book. I will get some books together ready for a book vote soon so you can decide on our next book! Tomorrow I will read you a shorter story to end the week :)
TOMORROW!
Tomorrow we have a music workshop! It will be live on Google Meet, 2-2:30pm. We are so excited! Here is what you will need to have ready for tomorrow:
- a wooden spoon (reasonably sturdy)
- a cushion or pillow (that is ok to be hit with the wooden spoon!)
- a metal or sturdy plastic container (tuppaware box, pot or pan, that can be also hit)
- a plastic bottle with the top on, filled with rice, pasta or something similar.
Any questions, just let me know. The link will be posted on Google Classroom just before, like all other google meets!

Maths
For today's Maths lesson, we are moving onto our new topic of division! Today's lesson will be a practical lesson to start off this topic. You will need 30 small items to do this lesson, e.g. pasta, fruit, crisps, sweets, biscuits, pebbles, lego :) Watch the video I have made first where I will show you what we are doing today. See the powerpoint attached below with the questions for you to complete. Take some photos of the groups you make to upload onto Google Classroom!

History

Today we have an exciting music workshop, 2-2:30pm! The workshop will take place on Google Meets, so find the link on Google Classroom just before it begins :)

We have now finished Crater Lake, so I have filmed myself reading you one of my favourite books which links perfectly to how we may be feeling at the moment due to lockdown, as well as themes relating to Children's Mental Health Week. So I hope you enjoy this book and can take lots of positive messages away from it! :) Feel free to watch this today, or maybe tomorrow for Feel Good Friday!
Google Meets & Zooms

There will be the whole school zoom sharing assembly with Mrs Arnold at 10am! I will post the zoom link on Google Classroom before it begins.
There has been a slight change of plan as I am unable to do the maths support group today now, but I will do an extra one next week if need be :) Reading and spelling groups will begin next week with Mrs King. We will be in touch to let you know if you are in those groups.
There will be a drop in Google Meet today where you can join if you want to come and have a chat with me, or see your friends to catch up with them. This will be 11:45am-12:20pm. So come along any time between then to say hello :)
At the end of Feel Good Friday, there will be a whole school zoom to end the day at 2:30pm! Again I will post the link for this on Google Classroom before it begins.
Barnham Primary Feel Good Friday!
We are so excited to bring you Feel Good Friday today! Below are a selection of activities for you to enjoy today, away from your screen! Choose one (or more) activities from each section to do throughout the day today :)
On Google Classroom under today's assignment, there is a shared powerpoint for you to add photos of what you get up to for everyone to see! Today might also be a great opportunity to try and complete some of our challenges for the week. The document to add photos for that is also on today's assignment.
