This half term we are reading The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear. We are examining the language used and experimenting with nonsense words. Later on in the half term we will look at calligrams and shape poems and have a go at writing our own!
We will also be using our predictive skills when reading The Boy who Cried Wolf and write informal letters and recounts.
Spring 2
This half term we are practicing our retrieval skills whilst reading our class book Look Up!
We are also looking at different poems about nature. We will use our reading skills to work out meanings of unfamiliar words.
