This Week's Timetable

Google Meets

Make sure you are logging onto Google Classroom every day so you don't miss any updates and can see the links to the Google Meets. Our Google Meets this week will be at 12:30pm Monday-Thursday. Please come on the same day as you did last week (see the parent mail email if you’re not sure which day you are). We look forward to catching up with you again! Keep uploading your work each day so we can give you some feedback. The instructions on how to log into Google Classroom and upload work are below.

Learning this week

For Maths this week, some lessons will be of me teaching you again and the next day will be the White Rose worksheets and videos. We are continuing with multiplication so to break it down and ensure you are understanding, keep going back to my videos to help you!

 

For Literacy you will be completing the Secret of Black Rock unit this week. Your sentences so far have been amazing! We have been blown away with the fantastic language you have been producing, so well done! Keep sending them in each day for us to see your progress.

 

Try and spend some time reading a book, either to yourself or with someone else. Local libraries are doing a click and collect service if you are in need of some more books! Below is a reading log for you to fill in and send to me at the end of each week. It would be great to see you filling this in every time you read! I will choose one child whose reading I have been impressed with who will receive 50p to add to their Squirrel Shop money when we go back to school! (Remember that Citizens of the Week also receive 50p!) I have also added a book review template for you to fill out when you finish a book! Each day I will continue to be uploading a video of myself reading you our class story, so sit back and watch/listen to that when you can :) I hope you're enjoying it so far!

 

This timetable is to help you keep organised, however you do not have to do the tasks in this order! Give what you can a go and please get in touch if you are struggling with anything!

 

I have created a 'virtual classroom' in Google Classroom which has all of the important links that you will frequently use throughout the week. Use this page to help you navigate your learning quickly and with ease. It is at the top of the 'Classwork' tab.

Monday 18th January

Exercise

It's important to keep excercising whilst you are at home, so join me in doing a Joe Wicks workout today! He is doing 'PE with Joe' live from 9-9:20am on his YouTube channel. If you can't join him live, you will be able to catch up on the workout later in the day instead. Have fun!

You will be continuing with this unit all this week and finishing it on Friday! Please upload photos of your amazing sentences today so I can see how you're getting on and show everyone your fab work too! At times Mrs C will put a timer up to give you time to write. Feel free to pause the video at any point if you need a bit longer to think. Have fun :) Today's lesson is: Sentence Lesson 5.

Maths

Today's maths lesson will be a White Rose video and worksheet. Your lesson is following on from Friday's doing: Multiplication of 1 digit x 4 digits. Go back to my video from Friday if you need to to help you. I have put a link to this again below. Follow the White Rose video first and then complete the worksheet. I have added the multiplication square below again if you need it to help with your times tables. If you would prefer to write in your answers from the worksheet on Google Classroom digitally, go to the assignment for today where I have created an editable copy of the worksheet for you there. Otherwise, continue to write your answers on paper instead and send me photos! Please check your answers using the answer sheets before sending me your work.

For an extra challenge, please complete some of the greater depth questions below and mark them using the answers at the bottom of the questions.

For Arithmetic, the same as last week, complete a few questions of this test each day. I would suggest 5 per day. I will upload another test near the end of the week too. The answers are at the end so please mark this yourself before sending me photos of your work. Below is also a Beat the Wall for you to have a go at if you would like! The answers are here also so you can add up your score. Do Beat the Wall as many times as you like this week and try to beat your time and score each time! Good luck :)

We are moving on to look at: Multiplication using the area model (grid method). We will be doing this for the next 3 days.

Below are the worksheets for today's lesson. You will be practicing more multiplication questions multiplying 2 digit by 2 digits using the area model. You can either print the sheet and answer the questions on it, or challenge yourself by writing the questions out in the area model yourself! The answers are at the end of the sheet, so please mark your work yourself before taking photos of it to upload on Google Classroom.

History

Thursday 21st January

Just a note to say that tomorrow at 9:15am (Friday 22nd), we will be doing a whole class Google Meet so we can do our sharing assembly together as a class! If you have anything you would like to share with everyone, please bring it along to show us. We will also announce who our Citizen of the Week is! Maths

For today's Maths lesson, please watch the white rose videos on the area model! There are two to help you with the first half and then the second half of the worksheet. The first video helps you with the first half and the second video helps you with the second half of the worksheet. If you like, you can also go back and watch my two videos about the area model method to help you as well. All videos are linked below, so choose which one is best for you today. The questions are from White Rose today so you can complete them on Google Classroom. Just add text boxes to the slides to type your answers in. I really need to see how you are getting on with maths at the moment so I know how we can move forward with it, so please upload any work you do and let me know if you are stuck!

Geography

This is your second Geography lesson about the United Kingdom. This lesson is looking at: What is the geography of Wales?

We are moving on to look at: 2d x 2d Long Multiplication. We will be doing this today, as well as Monday and Tuesday next week. It is tricky, but please don't panic. We are going to be holding intervention groups to help you with this if you need some extra support. We will let you know next week when these will be. Give today's work a go and let me know how you get on.

Arithmetic - Try some more questions from the arithmetic test paper and do beat the wall too :)

Science

Click on the link provided below and this will direct you to today's Science lesson. Please could you complete Lesson Three: What are contact forces? You will need to complete the quiz about last week's lesson and then follow the instructions on the video. Have a go at the mini experiments in the video!
