We will remember them

On Monday 11th November, our Year 5 and 6 children represented the school at a Remembrance Service at St. Gregory's Church, Barnham.

Pupils read the names of 22 soldiers from Barnham who never returned home from war; 19 in World War One and 3 in World War Two.

At 11am we stood in silence for two minutes to remember those who gave their lives.

Revd. Sue Nutt told stories about some of their lives, including where in Barnham they lived, how many brothers and sisters they had and who they married, along with where they served.

After Mrs Arnold read The Beautitudes we read out the poem 'The Talk' By John McCrae, May 1915 and joined in with prayers, including the The Lord's Prayer.

Our service ended with the laying of a wreath and singing 'God save the Queen'.

When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today.
